This amazing e-book and the testimonials are very revealing.  Only available on-line.  Every home should have a copy of Natural Cancer Treatments That Work.

How to Beat Cancer

Pre-Launch Edition.- update 3.             Health:  Who are these NICE people?                   The National Institute for Clinical Excellence.          They are a bunch of distinguished players on the UK medical stage.  The public have a small number of representatives who are involved in approvals.  Briefly NICE is about telling the medical profession all about 'best practise' for treatments and also approve drugs for use in the NHS within cost and age criteria on a National level.  Scotland has its own system which moves much faster than NICE.   We will be reviewing these organisations in depth as part of our commitment to bringing more understanding and awareness of  the health issues affecting us all.  Not least the recent remarks by the new President of the Royal College of Surgeons with reference to the unsustainable future of the current funding methods of the NHS.  On reading this article -published in The Daily Telegraph- I could not help wondering whether he was the right man for the job.  I would have been more convinced if his statement included more about the deliverables we expect from his profession.

I note that in line with the current - let's change before we can be measured policy- it is now known as The National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence.

Your view on these and other health matters is welcome on our forum.  Do we get a good service in North Devon?  Tell us about your experiences and what is so important about having our Health Service as a Nationalised Industry.

Is it true that General Practioners are the only members of the NHS who have been allowed to 'Contract-out' of unsociable working hours?   If so-  do you think they should be allowed to?

STOP PRESS:  Cut-back in NHS services in North Devon.

Yes. Now need to wait for 9 months for a routine hernia operation. The blame appears to be with the government for the overspend of £2 million. So says the board!

It's amazing how the accountants don't have a handle on the basics of budgeting after all these years.  Perhaps they are not selling the need hard enough!  It is well past time to get real and forget the General Sinking Fund.  It has sunk.  What we need is a clear view of NHS income and expenditure and maybe then we can perhaps understand why and where the users and players are wasting money and resources.

The National Health Service belongs to the nation- not just the politicians.

The NHS should not be used as a political totem pole.  The gerrymandering has led to a significant increase in private health schemes and a great deal of worry among the public.

Education: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela (1918 - )

Whether you agree with this statement or have strong differing views, it is a very important subject and we offer you the opportunity to comment and state your case through our interactive Forum.

From where we sit, the current system appears to hang together by the goodwill of the teachers- who under relentless pressure to produce miracles for the parents and the monitoring elite thinkers- still manage to be committed to the job of educating the pupils.

However, how can we have about 55,000 pupils every day deciding that they don't want to play the game?  Perhaps the teachers need to 'tweak-up' the look forward to in their lessons prep.  Soon the parents will be sent to prison for failing to ensure that the little darlings go to school.

Whilst thinking of your for or against views - we leave you a few other memorable quotes:-

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."  Benjamin Franklin (1706 - 1790)

"Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army."  Edward Everett (1794 - 1865)

"Education, therefore, is a process of living and not a preparation for future living." John Dewey (1859 - 1952)

"The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives." Robert Maynard Hutchins  (1899 - 1977)
